How to Set the Tone of Your Class Critique

-Remind the students that this session is meant to critique the design, not the designer.  Critics should try not to be judgmental, negative, or prescriptive... and designers should try not to take the feedback personally.

-Bring in some of your own designs and have the students critique it.  This will teach the class what a design discussion should look like, and how to take the comments of others constructively.

-Critique famous designs for practice, or the designs of unknown students of a similar age.  This will help your students become familiar with the process of a critique and what comments are appropriate.
